Mrs. Z (Ruth Ziolkowski) runs the operation along with her 10 children at Crazy Horse monument. A oil painting of her husband Korczak during the early years hangs in the art gallery which overlooks Crazy Horse monument mountain. Crazy Horse the world's largest sculpture has been in progress since 1947 when sculptor Korczak Ziolkowski (1908-1982) arrived in the Black Hills of South Dakota to accept the Indians invitation to carve a mountain. The Memorial is not a federal or state project.  The project is being continued by Korczak's wife, Ruth, and their large family.  .
