Monarchs_Butterflies_43a.jpg
Each year at about this time, hundreds of monarch butterflies make their appearance at Ardenwood Regional Preserve in Fremont, where they over-winter in the eucalyptus groves as part of their amazing life cycle. Ardenwood is really the only place in the East Bay where you can view this beautiful spectacle. A smaller contingent of monarchs used to show up at Pt. Pinole in Richmond, but that hasn’t happened in recent years.
